Search Queries
A name or place entered into a search tool is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its response. Cannon County Criminal History does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be kept long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers may automatically receive routine technical details about the visit:
- Page-view dates, times, and duration

- The device's assigned IP address
- Pages viewed during the visit
- A referring website, when one supplied the visit

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Cannon County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to records held by the Cannon County Sheriff's Office, the county courts, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not compiled into consumer reports or third-party dossiers.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by that provider's privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices rather than this policy. Review those terms before sending a query because Cannon County Criminal History does not control them.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to sheriff, court, Tennessee agency, legal-resource, or outside search websites. Once a visitor follows one, the destination's privacy terms apply. Those terms should be read before personal data is submitted.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to follow activity across websites for targeted advertising. That tracking is controlled by the advertising provider.

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:

Users Under 18
